I just got my 2012 V6 automatic a week ago, and have been trying to keep it under 4,000 rpm for the first 500 miles (currently 260). I am getting 16.5 mpg. I hope it gets better soon.

I have a 2011 2LT RS automatic. It going to be your driving stye. My daughter drove mine when she was here for a week and she got over 21 mpg. For me between 17 and 18 mpg. She does not off start fast or floor it to pass. Me on the other hand I start off fast and flor it to pass.

anyone getting that bad of mileage?

Mine is 2011 1lt manual with 19" Pirellis. City is probably about 15 but I step into a lot coming off ramps. Now highway cruising I can get my mileage meter to measure 31 mpg if I hold it steady on level ground. Even at 75 or 80 I can get 27 or 28 mpg.

I have 20k and a properly broken in motor.

I get 19-20 mpg mixed city/freeway and just recently got 26+ mpg strictly freeway.

AND I POUNDED the throttle whenever I feel like it too.

I reset my readout and do my best to drive like a puss. When I am taking my meds and trying really hard I muster up about 21mpg....but doing so means that you have Hybrids riding your ass as you attempt to keep the number high. I watch out for hills and valleys to take advantage of, letting off the gas just in time to keep it high....then the meds wear off and I cant take it anymore. Bottom line.....when I turn off the key and close the garage door I am back to 16.8 mpg....and I dont give a damn.

I'm at about 18,000mi and only average 16mpg. In my case I know its not the vehicle fault, I like to drive it like I stole it.

Here we go again with another "gas mileage " thread, I would tell you what I get for gas mileage but-a)you wouldn't believe me, b)if you you did believe me , it would astound you. c)others in here would start flaming me about how I am exaggerating things.
It all boils down to your driving style, conditions of the area you drive, and how bad you want to save gas.
I am the one putting gas in my car and paying for it, I know how to squeeze over 30 MPGs in this car and still have fun in it. It is great knowing that I can fill up a lot less than an SS.......which is a big reason I got the V8 in the first place.
If I couldn't improve the fuel mileage like you cant on your V6 then I would have been forced to trade it in on a gas saver, but honestly I found a way to get the MPGs I want out of it.
It also helps extremely if you live out in the country where there is very little stop and go traffic

...and you did your math wrong, 15.1Liters per 100km is 18.7 miles per gallon which isn't bad for a 'Muscle Car'.

The gas mileage sucks on sports cars V6, V8, V10, V12: Deal with it or get a Prius.

...and I don't believe you drive conservatively

...but I love you cause you're in Newfoundland! haha This is tough love.

I don't know I just used another calculator and it gave me a different number again I think I'm wrong LOL!

EDIT: 15.1 liters/100 km = 15.5771247 miles/gallon(US)

Anyway, wait til you have a few thousand clicks on it before you try and judge gas mileage, new engines always use much more gas.

I'm in PEI of course we love Newfies.
