Were these cut closer to where the head ports won't have as much of a lip?

Those problems has been addressed. MACE have revised their insulators to suit the holes perfectly.

Nice. So you were running 18mm which were gasket matched right? So although it matched up with your ported intake manifold it was larger than the head port?

Now aren't you going to have the opposite problem with the intake manifold not matching up to the insulator or does he taper it down from intake side to the head side?

The 18mm I am running now has been reshaped and resized by my porting guy at HFFI to match my ported IM and taper to stock head.

The 25mm I received today is a brand new part that has been revised to match all stock parts. It will be perfect with the rest of you guys that are running stock parts, but for me I will have to have it tapered off to match my ported IM and my stock head which is no biggie since I don't have to add on to the holes to make it smaller like I had to with the first version of the insulators.

Ok cool, good to hear! I'm thinking the biggest I'll be able to go will be the shortest version with my Vararam anyway. Who was the Vararam user testing these again?

That would make for some good low end torque but you might need a custom hood.
