As far as I am aware, I am the only member on here that has changed their own timing chains on the V6. I never purchased anything from Tracy, however, he did take the time to answer multiple questions that I had about resolving the timing and even put one of his mechanics on the phone. I suppose I called him 3 or 4 times.

I got a download manual off of ebay and it was a pain to use. It would have links, but of course, the links to other parts of the manual didn't work and there were hundreds of pages.
So what was the most difficult parts? Believe it or not, those valve cover bolts in the back, and modifying a three jaw puller to remove the harmonic balancer. Once in to it, it is time consuming. There is really a lot of room up front to do it. Tracy would do it for around a grand, it would be worth him doing it for that. I kinda did it twice. One of the actuators would bleed off after about 8 hrs so I went back in and replaced it. You have to buy tools to hold the four cams in place. The Caddy folks have a lot of experience and you can look on their forums to see what you are getting yourself into. I was doing a video but there was one on a Caddy that was close enough to understand the basics. He didn't show how to align the chains, gears. There were over 10 marks that have align. |

I would love to learn your results. At least longer term not initial. I have been saving for FI and now squirmish.
