I went with the JRE 470 RWHP Rough Idle cam and love it. Has a nice lope at idle and drives nice, just let er warm up. Has a nice rock when your idling at traffic lights as well, draws attention for sure. Ted is great to deal with as well. I'd post a vid but can't upload here in Russia right now, maybe when I get home.

You will get a lot of responses to this. But before we can answer:

L99 or LS3?

Budget?

You will probably like the nightfury cam, or a vengeance cam. TSP just released, i think it is their 235 cam, but they challenge it to anyones. Just look up a youtube of these or go to the cam videos post them up thread.

You will need the cam package
(should come with good dual springs, chromly rods and all gaskets needed and such.)
Probably want to upgrade:
Melling oil pump
LS2 Damper
c5 chain

If you are L99 you will have to:
LS3 Conversion unless your staying VVT then just AFM delete kit
Higher stall torque converter

Very good points, it's more than just shoving a cam in there. I included the melling pump upgrade and timing chain along with everything you stated.

Call Brian Tooley of Brian Tooley racing, Ed Curtis of flowtech and they can spec you out a cam of your choice with all the qualities you want in it. By the way BTR has thee best lifters called SLR's And his platinum springs have a "0" failure rate.

Off the shelf cams I am a fan o the NF cam. It puts the numbers down every rip.

Along with trunion upgrade
Melling 10296
C5r timing chain
Ls2 dampner
Chromoly pushrods to name a few again lol.

Are you planning to fly-cut the pistons with your nasty lift cam?

It looks like you don't have headers yet according to your signature, is that true? You will definitely want to add long tubes before you do a cam, to make the most of it and get the engine breathing properly.

We've had some excellent results out of our '545' and Avenger cams, check out our Build Blogs that list details and dyno results. It's a great driving cam with fantastic power and torque!

Typically when you do a cam (LS3) you're also doing double valve springs, pushrods, timing chain, 3 bolt cam gear kit, gaskets, etc. We sell complete kits for the swaps which help. If you have an L99 you will want to look into pulling the heads and deleting DOD As well, keep that in mind.
