Turbo cam vids
Im sure this should go in the media spot but seems more related to this one. Any guys with cams spec'd for turbo applications got an idle video? I saw bull's n its f**kn nasty!!!! I'd like to hear more cause i had always assumed they sounded more timid. I see tons of dyno vids but no idle clips. Please include specs... If its not top secret that is!! Im going this route and curious on what cams sound like what.
This is my old spray setup. Want my new to atleast sound this "healthy" lol http://youtu.be/GiYjQbXGetc Last edited by PwrAdikt; 08-20-2014 at 06:47 AM. |

Dont worry about wussifying the obnoxious idle with turbos. I, too , was concerned about this. On my vid, this is with my idle set around 800-850. Before the twins went on my tuner set the idle down at 700 and that adds considerably more perceived lope if thats what your concerned about.
Just make sure to run ARH shorties, the biggest they make, and run 3" or greater pipe out the back end and you will be pleasantly surprised. Are you gonna try running this same cam as your video. Pat Guerra can spec you out a cam that will give you what you want if you dont already have a cam selected. I love driving in traffic and watching the hippies shake their head in disgust while stopped at a light. My car runs on the tears of hippies!!!

AGP kit comes with a catch can. If you are asking if the wastegate dumps are vented, yes but plenty of people vent them back in.
I run a vented setup and never had smell issues, but it is a vette. Stock manifolds are my choice. Shorties only if you need 6 bolt head clearance. ARH are nice and AGP tried to put them on Jesses car but they were out of stock and couldn't get any on time so they went with Doug Thorley shorties. Very nice pieces too.

Yea 6bolt. Just the lsx ls7 style not black label or nothin lol. Looks like i'll be reading up on catch cans now. Idc about smellin oil. I work in refineries haha. I just want people to think it will eat women and small children if they get too close when its idling lmao. I heard vented to atmosphere sounds cooler. Thats all part of it in my opinion.

SNL has been cranking out some amazing custom turbo builds lately. ETA: That intake is next up on mine. Piece of art

Would love to see anyone with a nice back to back of an intake like that. Plenty of people making 1200-1600rwhp on stock intakes, so for $2800+ it better be a very nice gain. I just haven't seen the need for an intake like that, especially when there are other limiting factors first.
Then again if money isn't an issue, go for it.

On kill the car is shooting for 1700+ whp.
Turbos are good for about 1450whp and we have a 250 on top of that. Of course I'll never reallybe running it at 1700+... Thinking more of turning down turbos to about 1000-1100 and throwing the shot. 1300-1400 should be more than enough. All in your grandparents 4dr grocery getter
