I like that better. Less chance for half points.
I believe we are 16.5 - 11.5 Something like that. But I hate the half points. |

yea no half points here.....1 point each game out of 3 and 1 point for total points, not bad, easy to figure out, there is now 16 teams in the league, some reason 2 teams joined half way through, but we are currently in 6th.
No one in this league bowls over 200, we are there for the beer. My teams average;s are 164-152-148 and me at 119

my coach used to get so irritated at me when I wouldn't practice my spares. I always said "Coach, if spares were so important 190 would be a perfect game."
thursday night...255,233,224-712. Another guy on my team shot 722 and somehow we only won one game (four man team). |

I love bowling Peterson Point... my Thursday night league back home is that way... but then the sunday night league is the 4 point system... I love Peterson Point. Makes me bowl better since I have an individual to beat.

We have a guy that bowls out of our center by the name of Jason Sterner... he bowls on the regional tour and was exempt last year... I don't know if he got his exemption back or not. Well he comes in an practices on a 50 foot 1:1 pattern. That sh*t is HARD. I was down there bowling on it one afternoon before league and one of the other "good" house shot league bowlers walks up "190?? You only shot 190?" I calmly replied, yes I did... and I guarantee you that you won't break 150." He got all up in arms and was like "I'll show you"...so we bet $5 that i would beat him... 202-130 I win. He bowled one more game after I left (it was on lane 32 at the end) and I was in the ProShop where I worked. Afterwards I asked, how did that game go? "I shot a 185" I told him that wasn't a bad score on that tough shot.. then I walked up to the front counter and pulled up his score on the Control Center.. it was in the 120s I got a good laugh out of that. This happened about a week before I came down to Auburn. Poor fella.

Have you ever ACTUALLY got a strike with your eyes closed?
I have. Closed for the whole approach. There is a center in WA where I used to bowl called New Frontier Bowl. It was the easiest house in the area. And known for it too. They put a blocked off house shot on the lanes. When we'd go around bowling at different centers we always knew that if we struggled we could always go throw a few games at New Frontier and feel good about ourselves. You could miss your mark by as much as 5 boards and the 'V' into the pocket would guide the ball in. Of course it took a couple tries with the eyes closed. lol Non-scratch bowlers and new bowlers just don't realize the huge diffence that there is in lane conditions. It's one of the reasons that the scratch bowlers get beat more on handicap leagues when the lanes are bad. The straight bowlers don't care about lane conditions. |

I bowl in a summer PBA league last year and that showed me just how good I was ! Around 20-25 pins under my regular house league.
It's was just unreal how the patterns changed from week to week . Bowled the best on the Cheetah pattern.

I've never bowled on a PBA shot but my buddy in Seattle (scratch bowler) bowled a league like that and it killed him. hahaha He said the same thing. His average was under 200 for the first time in 20 years. LOL |

Time to report in my Saturday league scores with my son.
We did good this week. My son went 176 and 174. He was throwing a very consistent shot this week. I like where he is going right now. For a kid who is only 13 and bowled for less than 3 years he has come a long way. I shot 208 and 224. Lanes were dry at the back end again but I learned quickly that I needed to throw with more speed to get threw the back end.
