Thanks for posting. I'am sure with more track time you'll see better numbers.

One would hope so.

Just because you can afford it don't mean you can drive it. My 5.0 was idling off the line and made 113 mph passes with zero traction in the first two gears on an unpreped track. He needs some serious practice. And so do I lol. My camaro hasn't even seen the track yet...

You'll get better. Your car will also run much better in cooler air. Another big tip is show up at least 1 hour before you plan to run your car. Let your car sit with the hood open.
Then when racing begins, get near the front of the line so you don't have to start and stop constantly moving up the line.
Do a nice little burnout (even on the stock tires). Get them nice and warm.

Launch very gently like you would on the street. You might think that will produce a slow run, but it will actually improve your 60' times.

The air temp for his first pass was around 60 degrees. The track was warm as the sun was out. The car sat in the staging area for well over an hour before the track opened and started letting people make passes. They sprayed down the VHT and he was one of the first cars to make a pass after the VHT was sprayed. A decent burnout was done. The DA was 2485 at the time of pass (track altitude is 2210')...I guess what I'm trying to say is that the conditions for his pass were pretty darn good.

I'm sure it's the driver in this case but the times for the ZL1 are kind of a let down overall.

the zl1 has posted some easy low 12 second times but the trap speeds have been disappointing. i was expecting 119-120.

I got you confused with the other ZL1 that ran slow times in warm temps.

Based on your conditions, you should have run pretty well. 60 degrees is a great air temp for racing. The elevation will slow you down, but forced induction shouldn't be affected all that much by higher elevation.

High 13's WTF. My first run ever at a track was in my 2010 SS manual and was better than that.

Probably an SS with a face lift!!

Ummm...no chance of that. He had the hood up in the staging lanes and it was sporting a LSA. Definitely a ZL1.

I can understand the ET from a novice driver but whats up with the trap speed? Would that come from just slow shifting the sh!t out of it or letting off? I would be asking WTF!!!!???
