Lightbulb Replacement Goodyear F1s

Has anyone tried to buy OEM tires yet? I bought two from Discount Tire (one right, and one left) right after I took delivery from the dealer almost six months ago. I want to buy two more, but they seem to be pretty scarce on most tire dealers on the internet. Even Discount Tire isn't listing any in stock now. Of course, Goodyear themselves have them at pure MSRP, which is waaay over what Discount Tire charged me.

Anyone know of another source for our tires? I want to stay with the factory Goodyear F1 Supercar G2 tires as long as I can.

It makes me wonder if the factory is buying most of Goodyear's output leaving the replacement market dry... I've been a Deputy Sheriff for a long time and years ago we couldn't get Goodyear Eagle RSAs in quantity because they said that the Ford factory was buying a lot to place OEM on new Crown Vics (CVPI.)

Thanks!

Tara

Tirerack.com doesn't list the 1LE package but has the ZL1 tires. $339 for a front tire that would work on the 1LE. I know the tires are the same size all the way around but do the front tires have a different tread pattern than the rear?

The 1LE tires are the same all around as the front ZL1 tires (left and right side specific of course). So you could just select 2 ZL1 front rights and 2 ZL1 front lefts for a complete 1LE set.

You could also try your Chevy dealer. My dealer has decent pricing on tires and they will price match any local prices.

I'll check with the Chevy dealer again. I tried 6 months ago and their price wasn't competitive and they wouldn't price match. I know that Tirerack lists the tires, but does anyone know how much they charge to ship them? When I bought my first two, Discount beat Tirerack's price without even factoring in the shipping charges (if any.)

May have just been a poor employee at the parts dept, but he couldn't understand that I just wanted to buy two loose tires. He kept saying that I had to go through the service writer to get a final price. I think I'll not use Autonation(Champion) Chevrolet again.

Thanks for your input to my query!

Tara

Tirerack has the shipping calculator on their order page.

Tires are currently listed @ $339.00 ea. Shipping to me was $39 for the pair.

Personally, I bought an extra set of bright silver RS wheels and tires from another member. I only intend to use one of the set as a spare when I travel interstate.

If you include mounting/balance it's an easy $400 for the front and $500 for the rear for sake of rounding.

I've had to order 1 each front and rear. They ship from Shreveport LA and one of the tires I bought was at a Chevy dealer in Shreveport and they still had to order it in the next day.

Anyone know a good winter tire package for the 1LE? I would also like to try and find a package that comes with black rims. I want to keep my car blacked out. :P
