re-programming

i have read here in a few threads of people getting their camaro re-programmed after break in. can anyone go into a little more detail on this. is it something that GM recommends or is it a personal thing? and what does it actually do/why is it done?

I would call it a personal thing. A tune will change the efficency of the engine from everywhere from better throttle response to greater power at wide open throttle.

We offer a reflash device that can store up to 3 programs plus the stock program which you can revert back to at any time. We have seen an improvement from 13.1 to 12.97 in the 1/4 mile with just a tune, an improvement from 5.01 to 4.85 0-60mph and peak gains of 10HP and 10TQ and about 20/20 in the mid range.

Are you talking about the fuse pull trick or an actual new tune on your computer?

I will have an automatic so what is this fuse pull? I thought it was for the manual. And I'm not referring to any type of tune specifically, I have just seen in numerous threads, people talking about breaking in the car and then getting it reprogrammed to adjust to their style of driving and not the computers.

Fuse pull is for both V8s (don't know if it helps the V6s). There's a "sticky" thread in the V8 forum section that talks all about it. Basically tells you which fuses to pull in order to reset the octane/timing tables in the computer and such to make sure you are getting the best performance settings when you utilize 93 octane gas.

These guys are getting off topic with all the tune and mod talk. The OP is referring to the fuse pull which reprograms your cars computer after a night of having the fuse pulled.
