How much should I sell my car for?
I'm not going to be able to order my Camaro until I sell my current car, which I made a HUGE mistake buying.
It's a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE. It doesn't have a moonroof or leather, but features include automatic transmission, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, heated mirrors, air conditioning, AM/FM Radio, XM Satellite Radio, CD Player, Aux Jack (for iPod or MP3 player), fog lights, 6-speaker audio system, cruise control, electronic stability control, alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, audio controls on steering wheel, and rear spoiler. The buyer gets a 5-year/60,000 mile warranty from Hyundai. I've put it on eBay, Autotrader, cars.com, and put signs in the car windows and haven't had much luck. Only a few potential buyers who then say that I'm asking for too much. I wanted $13,500 at first, but I'm now willing to go down ot $13,000. I paid about $17,000 for the car and with interest it came out to like $20,000. :( I still owe $8800 on the car too. Any effective selling methods out there I'm not aware of? I just paid to have ad put in my local newspaper, so hopefully that will be in there by Saturday. |

To be honest with the way the economy is right now there is no telling. Much of this depends on the area you live in. for example. I live in a military town. We are not really effected by the down turn of the economy like most folks. That bieng said you cant hardly get anything off the sticker of a brand new car. However I was down in Florida last month. The JEEP/DODGE and PONTIAC, and FORD dealers all had signs out front. The Jeep dealer was offering 10K of sticker on the loaded Cherokees. Amazing deals. You would be hard pressed to get more than 2K off where I live. That is because the dealers here don't have a problem selling cars. I think your best bet would be to put it on Ebay. If everyone can see it, the guys who live in areas like me will bid on it as well, driving the price up.

I live in a normal middle-class area of Long Island, NY. So the economy isn't really too bad here. |

Galves.com will give you wholesale value. The used car market has crashed as well as new.
