Wind restrictor vrs Wind deflector

Anyone use one of these on their 5th gen?

I used the GM Wind deflector on mine we've upgraded to a 6th Gen and found this unit and am considering buying it instead for the obvious reasons.

Go!

Tim

We have one that lights up multi colors and has a remote, I like it and it seems to help with the air flow and noise. People like it at car shows, night shows it's great. Our says SS on it.

don't really care about looks just function, buffeting blocking etc.
they tell me I will be able to get the Hotwheels logo etched in it, then maybe light up orange.
Don't do the car show scene so no big deal.

how does it mount?

Tim

Does it work? Does it significantly reduce the wind and noise? Or is it just another lighted prop?

On our 2013 it mounts to the threaded screws that the Tonneau cover straps attach to. I normally drive 75 MPH to work and passing have hit 100 MPH and have not have any issues. I have the lighting control unit next to the drivers screw and I used Velcro to attach it.
I looked for a good pic but couldn't find one.

I think it moves the air back so you have less in the drivers area. Noise is better while riding around town, At 75 it is what it is.

They don't show they have one for the 6th gen yet. I am not sure how much it helps in mine. I got it more for the looks. I had heard the OEM windscreen works better for stopping wind and noise so I am looking to buy a used one so I can try it.

I had one in my 2015. At night, it was really difficult to see. The lettering refracted the headlights behind me. I am a geezer so it might not affect younger eyes. I now have a windscreen that works very well and I can fold it down if I am having any vision issues. The first one looked cooler but I took a beating returning it. Try to be sure before you buy.

Might just have to get me one of these in addition to the restrictor that we have for longer cruises.

Thank you Tom and Cheryl for this answer. It's 40" long and 5" tall, installed it sits about 6" off the top of the back seat, raising and lowering the top does not affect it.

I have one too. Don't think I would go this route again. It does minimal blocking of wind, It reflects the sun if hit just right and blinds you or you can't see through it, and as stated above is difficult at times to see through at night. It looks good though...
