Mice across the nation were being decapitated. In fairness GM raised the car.

i agree the tire to fender clearance is to much, but GM engineers did that for a reason i am assuming. Possibly due to down force, safety regs, or just simply to allow for the front end of the car to have more clearance when driving thru the autocross track.

I would not change the suspension to make it look lower in the front. Due to the magnetic ride control.

I'd love to find out why they did it. The MR wouldn't be affected by lowering it. They're not position sensitive like good off road shocks. The MR can soften or stiffen at any point in the Pistons travel and the system monitors for adjustments 1000 times per second.

You just have to worry about over-travel on the ride-height sensors...

I doubt a 1/2-3/4 drop would risk that...but something to consider...

Yep. They may have MR, but it's still a strut/shock with internal physical travel limits. I'd really want to know those limits before I risked trashing a set of expensive MR dampers with drop springs.

Hopefully there's an easy way to drop them at the spindle instead of changing out springs. Then there's no worry on the shocks. As long as there's still clearance at full compression, everything's good. I'm sure company's will have drop spindles for them if there's not another way to do it. GM could have even stuck a spacer above the strut. Maybe someone can check there for us.

The height is normal when it leaves the factory, GM never accounted for the shipping pucks. They are damaging the MRC and ZL1's are stuck in a unsafe high condition.
They are recalling all the ZL1's to replace the front suspensions.

Here's a side by side comparison I made of the front fender gap of my ZL1 and that of a pre-production ZL1. Sure looks like the gap is larger on my car.
Is it an optical illusion, or is there more clearance all the way around the fender opening, not just at the top??

People did the springs on the 5G ZL1 without any problems, don't see why there would be any issue with the 6G.
