Smoke on startup

When my car hasn't been started for a few days, or I give it some gas as soon as it starts I get a lot of white smoke. It also smells like it's running really rich. Anyone else?

mine doesn't smoke. Does it happen if you don't hit the accelerator?

Your car still have cats? With no cats and bigger injectors my car is pretty rich at idle. If you are worried about an internal issue in the engine, you can always pull out the spark plugs and see if any of them look different. Any other mods?

White smoke does not usually mean it's running rich. It's probably just condensation in the exhaust blowing out.

Oil smoke on start up could leaking valve guide seals. Does it smoke on deceleration also? That is a tell tale sign of valve guide seals leaking.

Hey Aka6875,

Smoke on startup is no fun! I’m sorry to hear your Zl1 is doing this. Have you taken your Camaro to your dealership to see if they can diagnose the concern? If you would like assistance in setting up a dealership visit, PM us your name, VIN, current mileage, contact information, and preferred dealership and we can look into this for you!

Thanks,

Jeff M
