Well I daily drive the vehicle so that’s why I’m thinking just something basic like a gm performance crate ls3 that way it can still pass emissions for when the times needed.

But for the dollar it’s hard to pass up on the blueprints power if I was to go with blueprint it makes 530hp so I figure with the mods I have already: CAI, stainless works catback, 2 inch TSP and Catt delete the car should probably make 500WHP or more which would be like the perfect amount of power for me and I also assume a good tuner could still get this to pass smog when the time is needed since I have all the parts for it to pass smog I just wonder if they connect to the obd-2if they would be able to tell it’s not the original motor and fail me

That sure is a tough decision. If your budget allows I would think crate as you can drop it in & be done. On the other hand if your block is good you can weigh the possibility of going with a steel crank, rods & better pistons. If you ever decide to add boost down the road you would have a bullet proof lower end. What are the limitations of the nodular iron cranks, powdered metal rods & eutectic pistons that come out of the factory.

Yeah and they have a 30 month 50,000 mile warranty that’s pretty good. Gm is 24 months 50,000 I believe. I’m really stuck and don’t know what to lean towards the experts at gm or a good company that’s provided good engines for years and is using the same platform it’s tough for me. I’m definitely going to take a little to think about it cause it may not be for a lot of people but this is a lot of money I’m putting into this and I want to make the best decision, which is also why I’m asking for opinions cause ultimately its my decision but I definitely would like some people’s option on this

It is really hard to ignore a warranty when your talking about 500 hp. That is peace of mind. Crate prices with a warranty are actually quite attractive if you compare them to what people are asking on e-bay for LS motors. I watch Copart every day & people are snatching up any LS platform wrecks for ridiculous money. Yesterday a completely trashed base model 2008 Corvette with 44k went for $9700.

It is crazy how high auction car prices have gotten.

OP, just keep looking for what you want. Don't settle, especially if it is only a few bucks difference. Keep looking and comparing. Find a shop that can build you an engine and get a price. Many give warranty. Check out thompson motorsports as well. They have some great deals and give warranty.
