Exclamation Magnetic ride issues

Hey so I put my zl1 in storage for the past 5 months and upon taking it out and driving it around I noticed that the suspension on large bumps seems to not work. It felt like cut springs the way it would bounce. No check engine lights or anything. I checked to see if the struct are leaking But they arenít. I saw in another post people having this issue but that they couldnít go over 85mph. I can go over 85mph but still on large bumps the car feels like itís bottoming out.

You can check the rears with the trunk open and pressing or bouncing with both hands on the lower latch area, you should not be able bounce the car with the motor off. I haven't figured out a way to check the fronts yet as there is no good area to grab without bending something.

So I tried that and they bounce a little, I lifted the back and was wrong about the leaking structs, the bottom of the rear structs are leaking, so my next questions is do I just go and replace them both or can I get them repaired?

Yup just ordered them through summit racing, since GMdirect will not ship them to me because of the hazardous materials.

You need to call back Summit and get them to put in writing they are considered an official warranty partner for AC/Delco and accept the new warranty for MRC established April 2018 which gives to the original owner/purchaser limited /lifetime warranty replacement. When I was stocking up on rears years ago I had a long conversation with them and they didn't know anything about it and Delco confirmed they were not.

As a result I bought from Amazon who Delco said was along with Rock/Auto which I would never do business with. They also of course included any AC/Delco Service dealer. I only think this is important because I had the first pair fail after only 500 miles, and after getting Delco engaged Amazon sent out a new pair. Since then they have increased their price by 200 bucks.

Do the rear shocks have a lifetime warranty, or are you taking about the warranty for the new MRC shocks?

Do you mean to write "original vs. oem replacement?" If so, the oem replacements have a warranty.

New replacement MRCís are lifetime warranty to the original purchaser, but as I said you need to verify whom you are purchasing from is authorized by Delco to honor the warranty.

I have a 2013 ZL1 and had the same bouncing issue going down the highway after my car sat for several months. I also had a dead battery. I took it to the dealer and they had to reprogram the suspension.
