Windshield Quality

anyone have issues with the quality of their windshield? I have less than 5k miles and the windshield has what looks like scratches/chips all over the place.

I have 2012 ss 28k. I try not to follow trucks too close. Must be poor quality glass. Not to mention soft clear coat on our paint

I also have zero deductible glass, haven't really used it on my car yet.... safelite had repaired all my little cracks.

Safelite repaired one of my cracks on my 2014 windshield to prevent. Believe it or not a month later, I turned the hot air on stage 1 or so, I go inside and there's a huge line near the crack they filled in... -___-, I have a deductible of 100$ plus I required oem hud windshield so I have to pay extra for that meh...

Yes they suck! Replaced one in my 2011 and was going to replace it again but traded it in but now I have a 2014 and there is a crack in that one but it is on the inside? No chips just a faint crack about 6 inches long that you can feel with your finger nail. You think that would/should be covered under warranty?

My '10 Camaro windshield looks like its been sandblasted. Every square inch is covered with hundreds of small chips.
I don't recall seeing that on any of my prior cars.

Mine got cracked on the way to get it inspected! Not sure if it's true, but I was told they made the windshield thinner to cut down on weight.

For minor abrasions you might try #0000 fine steel wool to clean your windshield.

I drive company cars as DD's. These modern-day, THIN windshields pit just from the sand and dust on the road at road speeds. I guess the only saving grace is that if you ever exit one head first it might not break your neck!

An option to think about if you have constant problem with them are optic armor lexan window. It costs about 450 for a front installs like regular glass and is damn near indestructible.

My previous vehicle was a Nissan Frontier (2012). I had to replace 3 windshields in the first 4 weeks of ownership due to rocks. This one seems to be a beast in comparison,
