How hard is it to install new injectors?

So it looks like I'll need bigger injectors. How hard is it to change them in the garage? I've never swapped them out before.

I calculated 850cc should be fine as my current setup is with stock injectors showing a IDC of 126% at times. I think these will work https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/p...0-cc-for-cts-v or are these better? https://deatschwerks.com/collections.../16u-00-0090-8

I also just got a quote of $600 installed with injectors. That includes me trading my stock injectors. $775 for a tune and $500 for a flex fuel install. That seems fair to me.

They are not hard to swap out. If you have a trailer just do them yourself. You won’t be able to drive on them without a tune. If i were you i would do the flex fuel sensor myself and save the money, it’s easy. 10 minute job. $775 for a tune is a great price specially if it includes a flex tune also.

On a ZL1 its a little tougher than a normally aspirated just because you have less room- not too bad though. Make sure you buy injectors that come with good data. Since you have HP Tuners you can change the data yourself. i would recommend the Injector Dynamics ID1050X, they cost a little more than the competition but the data is spot on and quality is second to none. A flex fuel kit is a breeze to install but tuning for it is a little more involved, LSA's love E85.

Yeah the price was pretty darn good form Jeremy at fasterproms. He's 2 hrs away from me in Clearwater

$600 for 850 cc injectors installed (trading my stock ones to him for the labor)
$500 for the flex fuel parts and install
$775 for the tune including E85
$50 for 10 gallons of E85 (bringing car in with 1/4 tank of 93)

Comes to $1925

He says to keep my 2.5" top pulley as it's safe. I have a 2.75" that I will swap in just to make sure I don't go anywhere near maxing out in the IDC until he tunes it. Plus I'm not used to the car just yet

ID850’s where discontinued in 2017 and replaced with the ID1050, so this guy has been sitting on these for almost 6 years.

We didn't discuss brands or part numbers so not sure what would go in there until I get there. He said 1000 cc was also an option so I don't know specifically what I'll wind up with.

If your running E85 you want 1000cc over 850cc for room to grow, you also will need more fuel than the stock fuel pump-think real hard about adding an aux pump because E85 requires about 30% more flow.

Would not put anything in but a Injector Dynamics.. ID1050 can take more pressure for growth and has a better pattern than the 850..
