Depends on what wheels, won’t fit on stock wheels unless they’re 1le or zl1. But yes 285 are the stock tire size on 1le’s and I’m running them on my SS.

SS oem wheels are 20x9 front and 20x10 rear correct? 285s will fit both of those. If they are 20x8 and 20x9s 275s will fit all 4 corners.

Non 1LE are 20x8 and 20x9.
285 would fit the wheel but pooch out. I wonder if it would clear the spring.

The answer depends on the wheels. Running a 285 on an 8 inch rim doesn't sit well with me. It'll fit on a 9 inch rim, but it's not exactly ideal. If your talking about a 10 inch rim, do it! You could even pull off a 295 if you want. But it'll all fit under the fender without modification. No worries.
