Dealer is hesitant to give me an updated order sheet

So when I went in to order last week (8/28) they told me they'd take my information and what exactly I wanted to order. They gave me what looks to be like an order sheet, but it doesn't have an order number. The guy I talked to told me the person that places the orders wouldn't be there until Monday. They called me Tuesday to confirm my options and said the order would go through. I told them to send me an updated order sheet with my order number through email but they haven't. I called today and they told me my order went through and has a "preliminary production date of 10/19." I told them again to send me an email with the info but he said he would wait until he had more updates.

TL;DR VERSION: I feel that my dealer is hesitant to give me an order number

Heck, I'd try calling one more time, and if they don't, I'd go in and physically ask them. The TPW could very well be legit, but my dealer gave me my order sheet immediately after the order was placed.

Because the tpw could still change most dealers won't give an updated sheet. I would go in and ask them in as my dealer showed me and I learned my order number changes as well.

Normally the order number does not change and even appears on the Window Sticker, one of the last things made before retail delivery.

I should say my order number changed from the order I placed that was saved configuration to when my order was pushed thru to gm.

Yeah he said something like this. That he didn't want to give me the info because the date could change. I'm gonna try calling again tomorrow and if they don't want to send it I'll go in and have them show me that it's actually through.

Your dealer sounds like mine. Could not put the order in Saturday afternoon, then he is going on vacation till the 16th. And guess no one else can send me a new order sheet and number till he gets back.
