And the "chicklet" dissapeared around the same time as the bankruptcy.

I heard the emblem was for early 2010 camaros then they replaced it with the backup sensors on the rear bumper for later model 2010's. I have the emblem on mine...no sensors.

uh... no. They disbanded the perf division in mid production.

Guys do a search. This has been discussed a zillion billion times.

Yes, at one time GM thought it would be a good idea to establish a parent identity, and as such, they stamped the little GM marque on the lower fender, rocker or lower door, depending on what GM product you had. Very much like the older GM cars that all had "GM" seatbelt buckles and floormats.

Sometime around the bankruptcy as mentioned, they stopped with the GM branding. They shifted the focus to individual brand identity, so the GM badge disappeared.

I have a pair of them somewhere I took off our old 2007 G6. Those things are ugly
and look out of place.

Early production 2010 Camaro's were built while the division was still around a little,although there wasn't much of it left!
Thats also the reason why the Impala SS and HHR SS went bye-bye.
I'm trying to find the bulletin they sent us dealers about the removal of the chicklet's,It had to do with them focusing on the four "core brands" individually,and not as one company,the reason they started putting the GM "Mark of Excellence" emblems on was so that you would think of all the brands (Chevy,Buick,Pontiac,Saturn,Hummer,GMC,etc.) as one big company.
