soooo are there any other reasons why the part starts with the z28? people are saying there are more than just one part # that begins with the z28... If these parts were all produced from the same factory and the batch was like z for january and the 28 was the 28th day... or something... then this would make sense... but the fact that there are more than just one part that have the same first three digits cant be coincidental. where are the pictures of the sideskirts?

Just to add: I dont think this means there is a Z/28 on the way. Just wondering how the coincidence occured though.

Its possible that a lot of the tooling was already made to use Z28 stamping when the choice was made to call it a ZL1 Camaro instead.

Though it wouldn't shock me to know that GM is indeed working on a Z28 Camaro which we may see at the end of the 5th generation or in the 6th generation. The 2013 Camaro will by far be the best 5th Generation ever made and with some coming out in 2012 before the end of the world thats a good thing. We won't be able to drive the cars produced in 2013 because in 2012 a meteor is going to hit or planet X. Or the planets crust is going to break up killing most of the people on earth so better get that ticket on the boat in China.

Me being in the GM parts business for over 23 years I've seen all kinds of things like this, casting numbers or names,a lot of the time it doesn't mean a thing.
Not disagreeing with you but have you ever seen a Z28 part number on another Chevrolet model like an Impala or something? How hard is it to find another part with this number on it? Any pics?

The part is for a Z28 diffuser I/B(inboard) RH(right hand) it's just what GM intended on calling the ZL1..parts are made way ahead of time and by no means is a clue to a future part of a real Z/28!!

If we can get someone who was actually able to get the ZL1's wheel liners, it will be even more interesting... Ofer or Ray, can you guys post a pic?
