Could the new LLT 3.6L DI be considered this generations "Mouse Motor"????
Looking at the specs of the new 3.6L DI motor I noticed it's specific output per Cubic Inch is 1.4. That's more than the LS3 and more than the mightly LS7.
At 1.4 HP per CI, the new 3.6L DI is a pretty impressive powerplant. It should this generations "Mouse Motor". |

I used to be Dragoneye...

The SBC was nicknamed "mouse" not because it was a V8, but because it was small compared to other V8 engines of the time, right? Now it's GM's only V8...something could step up and take the place of the "mouse motor"...
Good question, imo......I dunno. It would be cool to have some sort of nickname for such a potent little power plant. |

I wonder if the next V8 will be just two more cylinders added to this one. If it was the same displacement per cylinder as now it would be 400hp 4.7L V8. Now bump that up to 6.2L.

Interesting comparison. The ZO6 has a 427...small block. It'll be interesting just how much more power they get out of the 3.6

The next V8s will be a new generation of GM motors. They will be different—more efficient, more powerful, better designed.

It won't. They will be 90 degree V, cam in block designs and will feature direct injection, active fuel management, and variable valve timing.
