These are heavy cars , you might want to consider smaller cam to keep the curve fat. Or not

Just saying peak hp is not everything on a almost 4000lbs car

Here's a list of things most people do when doing a cam. Melling oil pump, ls2 timing chain dampener, timing chain (wouldnt do a double roller as they have clearance issues), 3 bolt cam and gear, hardened pushrods, lifters, .660 lift valve springs, valve seals, rocker arm trunion kit. I recommend CHE or btr V2 kit. Most places have cam kits that include a lot of that stuff. If you don't want to pull the heads to do the lifters you don't have to. If you don't want to pull the oil pump you don't have to, but then you can't change the timing chain or tensioner. Cam grind i won't get into, I'd call btr and tell them what you want they will pick one off the shelf or you can custom grind, go for the premium cam core it's worth the extra few bucks.

F-35, but I would consider their stage 3. The older version did good for me and was on the safer side for PTV. More streetable too, easier to tune. If your car is a DD, consider going with a custom cam.

If you plan on doing gears and all the boltons its a good plan. A big cam is cool.

This^

I would change the lifters depending on how many miles you have on the car. Last thing you want is to do is tear that engine down, if the lifter malfunctions. Then you run the risk of getting the cam eaten up.

Cam wise- is this your first cammed car?

I was initially going to put in a night fury cam in my SS but I traded that in for a C7Z. . A lot of people ran it and it netted good results. Why change the wheel if it’s not broken. On the other side of things, you might not like the bigger cam since it’ll require more throttle to get up and going. Typically not good for daily drivers, but from my experience it’s all in the tune and what you’re willing to tolerate.

You should check out GPI. I’m running their SS4 in a stick car and it’s very fun
