A friend responsible for the Camaro key assures me the new key, which should start showing up in more GM vehicles is significantly improved over the G8. Granted only 3 months old, but I find I constantly am flipping and closing Number 3's key and I also keep my house keys attached with zero issues.

This was never an issue because I never attach other keys to my car key.

If I recall correctly, these are not exactly the same as the G8 keys, and may be more durable.
Mercedes has moved away from this style key, they now have one without the actual 'key' part. And if you choose the keyless option you don't even have to take this thing out of your pocket.

The VW ones will come open in your pocket. I like the ring attachment better on the GM version.

My big gripe is that these keys are HUGE. I'm going to start calling them "Jitterbug" keys because they're so big that octagenerians can use them.

Theyʻve had them for a while, had a 2001 Benz with this style fob, worked on inferred connection. Great for security and never had any problems with it.

My old Mazdaspeed 6 had a smart card that you stuck in you pocket, when you approached the car you hit a button on the door handle which unlocked the doors, rolled down windows etc. Then just turn the ignition and go.

Loved and hated it!!!
