LSA ProMeth Setup

OK, looking into the Prometh setup. Most of that is straight forward. I'll be installing the sight gauge and the low level indicator.

Here are the instructions I'm following:

I'll need to determine the best way to route the line to the injection site (behind the sc lid) to make sure its protected and safe...

LSA ProMeth Setup cont.

So, here is the basics of the tank:

Sight Gauge:

Drill holes already defined in the tank:

Low Level location:

This location is not 'pre marked' so I'll need to make sure I have it 'centered' before I drill it out. Once that is completed, I'll create a harness that will lead to the controller. I'll also need to create an 'LED' setup so I can know when the low level is on and when the system is running...

Rivnuts will be used to hold the tank down in the trunk -- might as well!

All kinds of fun ahead...

Just wanted to show you why I use Road Warrior Plus.

I've had RWP on since May 15th -- just kept it on as I was:
  • Racing @ ECR @ the End of May
  • CFest Prep
  • Driving to CFest in 3 thunder storms
  • Race @ NCM
  • Driving from CFest
  • Working on the after CFest
  • Installing the Electric Water Pump

So, I've had RWP on for about 3 months. All I did today was take it to the car wash, remove the 'road grim' and RWP, then came home, did a Garry Dean Wash (with detail juice), hit it with Adams detail spray -- this is how it came out:

No buffer or touch-ups -- just wash and detail spray... That is how the front bumper did -- I'll need to repaint it though as I didn't put RWP on when I followed the Z/28 crew -- ugh, that is a whole other story...

Anyway, RWP is worth every penny - I rest my case...

I don't have a lot of pics of me so, its hard to remember who I am ;o) -- especially when you meet so many folks -- or have a few drinks...

LSA ProMeth Setup cont.

OK, so started tank prep for the ProMeth install. The first thing I did was drill out the required holes:

Sight Tube (1/2" holes drilled):

On the 'lower' hole, DRILL SLOWLY and don't go deep. Right below that area is the 'line' opening for the pump.

Low Fuel Level 3/4" hole saw:

On the Low Level hole, I used a 3/4 hole saw and, I made sure it cleared the shelf in the tank. You'll see where the hole is in relation to the angled relief...

After drilling, wash the tank out and make sure you have all the drill chips out of the tank.

Once I did that, I installed the sight tube. For these I used Dawn to ease install:

Grommets:

Inserts:

Tube, spring clamp, level ball:

Trimmed to fit and clamped:

Low Level indicator:

Next, I'll need to clear out the trunk, remove the rear seat then, wire and line.

Sweet corn smell, blows bubbles, and cleans the environment - all at the same time... What's not to like?

I could be mistaken, but I think some meth installers run the service line from the trunk , thru a whole somewhere, down the rear fender behind the liner and then thru the ground effects panel on the side, then up thru front fender to engine. Just a thought. If you need any ideas. Lol
