Ported Throttle Body installed - fuel smell

I just installed a VMAX throttle body on my bone stock 2014 LS3. It doesn't have a tune. There's an intermittent gas smell when I'm stopped at a light or have parked the car and am walking around it. The smell went away when I re-installed the original throttle body. Anyone know if this is normal? Will it take time for the ECU to adjust?

Might just be the fuel trims adjusting out still.

What he said... lol its a adjustable opening with a throttle blade to allow a slight increase in air flow your fuel comes in via the fuel rails and injectors..... your car may be adjusting its air fuel flow slightly or your just parked with the wind blowing from your exhaust........ You should smell when you raise the air fuel mixture in the tune for having a cam and headers ....lol

Understood that it doesn't make any sense, I'm familiar with the fact that it's only air. That's why I posted. Before I installed it, no strong fuel smell. I install it, even my girlfriend is talking about the gas smell. I put the old one back on and the smell (at idle and after driving for 15 mins or so) is gone. Maybe I have a different issue not sure. It definitely seems to be running richer with it installed. I'll put it back on again and see what happens -

EXACTLY. Bo's ported TB's are plug and play and work as advertised. Just for insurance also get a new GM O ring/gasket.
