Carbon Fiber hood?

It doesn't look like the new hood is going to have a separate drop in vent like gen 5. I can see them going full carbon hood to take some weight off the front and have it optional to leave the center exposed Carbon. They just started offering this option on the new Z06. What do you guys think. I know the aluminum hood is very light already so maybe it will be for ascetics only.

I'm thinking the hood will be similar to the C3 L88 hood.

And an M5 is 100k, and a gt500/gt350r is ~65k. I wouldn't let the CTS-V price affect your thoughts on a Z price. CTSV is also more then a Z06. I think there trying to bring the brand up stream with the Pricing, Msrp is just "suggested". I see the new V being had for tons off sticker when the hype wears down. Gm knows how well a 70k camaro Sells.

The hoods are not the same style... Not even close. The cts-v hood is a raised hood with a small vent, like the z06. The new z hood is an actual trench around the "motor location" and it's almost like the center of the hood flows under the side to front part of the hood... Like this

I think your hood "chop" Might be a little off. The V has "trenches" and it flows around a vent, the Z hood has VERY similar trenches and it flows downward into a reverse scoop. Like I said I think there veryyy similar.

The design may be similar, which makes sense, if it was engineered for the LT4 and both have the LT4, then why re-invent the wheel. I'm all for carbon fiber hood IF the ZL1 doesn't approach the price of the CTS-V (in fact it better not even come close). And yes, I don't think it will, but just like with the complaints on the 2SS pricing, we can't ask for and get all these great features without paying for it - if it's an option, that's great.

The hood is an exact copy of the lines from the image... if I had connection to wifi where I am, I'd post an image with simple lines from the track images, showing what I'm trying to say. As you can see in trans damm's two pics, the hoods are nothing similar... The z hood is almost like the l88 hood, but more rounded instead of squared...

pricing is key for me.

these cars are all pretty fun to drive. so being the expensive one is hard to justify.

the GT350 I am looking at with the tech pack is $56,195. my hellcat was $59,500

so if this car was well north of 60k I won't look at it but hoping they will keep base cost in the 58-60k range and then maybe like the z06 it can have options that make it a ton of money.
