It would probably sound cool, but I think the novelty would wear off quick. Also, I doubt you'd pass db limit at most tracks.

I would like to hear it though...

If you are going this route I would strongly recommend doing the bypass valves instead that way you have the best of both worlds. I kept my stock mufflers and trust me you are not going to want to have straight pipes all the time. Look at my exhaust set up (headers, etc) and by using the bypass valves you can literally have race car loud when you want and adjust to run through your stock mufflers. I would literally get a headache if I drove the car for over 40 minutes with the bypass valves open...it is literally obnoxious loud but sounds amazing. Trust me do not get this if you plan on driving the car for long periods of time.

I had a 2008 mustang bullet that I did cams, mufflers, etc. too. I listened to hours of audio from the movie Bullet to match that sound (I make videos for a living). I got exactly what I wanted! It sounded bad ass!!!! However, after a while I realized how annoying it was to other people. I even got a complaint from our HR Department saying the noise shook the building. I had one guy rear end another car at a light, trying to get a look at my car.

None the less it was bad ass, but made me feel like a juvenile. So I sold it (when I turned 50) and regret it to this day. Also my mods devalued the car when I traded it for a Cadillac CTSV.

So I get why you want to make it louder ( I also would love to do that to my Z), but know you will have to live with it. Another idea might be to get cut outs that you can turn on and off. That's what I'm going to look into after my warranty goes out.

Looks like basically an open headers exhaust except with pipes to dump the gases out the rear. No cats either? Wow, that will be LOUD.

Your neighbors will definitely not like it and you may get tired of it unless you don't drive it a lot? I second the cutouts suggestion - electrically operated C/Os give you the best of both worlds.

I have two choices...
1- American Racing headers and hi flow cats thru an X pipe and out the exhaust where I have pulled the fuse so they stay open all the time
2 - An expensive party trick QTP exhaust cutouts that are obnoxiously loud and I love it!
