10 Quarts of Oil?
I just bought a 18 Camaro SS. The owners manual says it takes 10 quarts of oil.
Is this true ? |

Lol. First oil change. I guess I’m nervous about it.
My 03 Cobra takes 6.5 quarts. |

The dealership better know it takes 10 quarts. I’ll remind them.

Just remind them. First time I went, the invoice was for 8 qts. I made them double check it.
8 qts was for the old LS3 engine.

Don't just remind them. Check your dip stick before you start it up and drive away. The tech may have underfilled it. Don't ask me how I know.

Had the dealer fill mine with 8 quarts as well. Thankfully, the service advisor happened to mention 8 quarts, because I wouldn't have verified since I assume they know what they are doing. But even then, after I said "Are you sure its not 10 quarts?" he verified with his tech, who confirmed 8. I wasn't 100% sure at the time, so I drove off, trusting them, and checked the manual at home and ended up buying the extra couple quarts to put in.

I took 10L (˜10.6Q) of Dexos2 5W40 to the dealer for them to do the oil change. They claimed they used ALL of it. It was filled all the way to the absolute very top of the hash marks on the dipstick.
