Backup Camera on 2015 1LS

Hi guys, I've been thinking about getting a backup camera but since I don't have mylink, my options are limited to aftermarket products. I've been doing some research and I've seen that alot of people stand by gen5diy's backup camera. As I understand it, their camera doesn't have backup lines. Does anyone know of an option that does? And for those of you that have gen5diy's camera, does the lack of the lines affect you in any way or is it easy to back up perfectly straight once you get used to the camera angle and what not?

Thanks for reading guys and gals!

The 2015s have guidelines incorporated into Mylink. The lines make it infinitely better then not having them. Most aftermarket cameras have the lines right in the camera. They are however not cheap. I replaced my camera with one with the lines. It cost me $450 including installation.

IMO Backup cameras are over rated. Nice to have for a glance but if you plan on using it as your primary back up viewing tool, plan on hitting something. Lines or not I've had both.
My 2 cents

My rear hd camera with guidelines cost me 85 bucks. My front camera with guidelines cost Me about 30 bucks. Both still crystal clear after a year or longer.
Guidelines can be switched on or off on either camera if desired. I have gotten so use to my rear camera I never look at anything but.

I installed this camera on my Corvette, has the backup lines and works great. Can be used with any 'backup system.'. in my case, I have an aftermarket Kenwood system it hooked right up to ...

Is there any problem with distortion or not being able to gauge depth and distance?

So I would need a display for this one to work right? I only have the base model so just the standard radio

Yes, you can pick up monitors fairly cheap on eBay Amazon & other online sources.

That is the exact same style I have for My front camera. It hides in the grille nicely and you can also reverse the image to use as a front or rear camera.

My backup camera cost around $50 and a couple of hours to install

Camera: $19.99
Esky EC170-06 HD Color CCD Waterproof Car Rear View Backup Camera, 0.86X0.65X0.50-inch
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Monitor: $19.99
Esky® Foldable 4.3 Inch Color LCD TFT Rearview Monitor Screen for Car Backup Camera
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Add a Circuit / Tap-a-fuse ~$5

T-Tap Wire Connectors $3

My 2015 Camaro 2LS does not have the gauges in the center, so I just put the monitor under the (non-MyLink) radio in that little cubby area. So far it's been great!
