So you should take that argument and bury it away because it just makes you look stupid when you use it.

Also, if it weren't for those 4 and cylinder Camaros, you wouldn't have your V8 because the car relies on those to stay alive. Thankfully GM offers all of us a plethora of choices with this car and we can buy whatever the hell we want right now.
Well apparently I am stupid, every 3rd/4th gen 1LE I've ever seen was a manual so I guess I just assumed that was the case especially since that was all you could get on the 5th gen. Not sure how I went this long without knowing that but I guess that pretty much kills that argument. I still don't like them offering the 1LE package on the non-V8s though. I don't have a problem with 4/6 cylinder Camaros in general, but they shouldn't be offered with the same "racing package" as the V8. If you want to race a 4 cylinder, get a Miata. When I see a Camaro with a matte black hood coming up behind me, I shouldn't have to question what's under the hood. What's next, a ZL1/1LE appearance package?

If there is no choice GM would loose sales . The 10 speed has proven itself to be faster .Porsche ,Ferrari ,and Ford all have discovered the benefits ,why shouldn't Chevy ?

Lets remember there are drivers out there that don't have use of all their limbs. But they can really drive! Have the automatic available offers them a chance at the performance others enjoy.

I'll agree its not my thing, but I don't mind the auto being offered. Like someone said, whatever helps keep it selling and not disappearing forever.

HOWEVER, I do agree that the styling is just rough. Its not just the Camaro either. I've owned GM trucks for almost 20 years now and I just can' t get into the new weirdo styling language GM is using across the board. The revamped 2019 Camaro is a little better, but I still can't get into the looks of the current gen Silverado and even the last gen of Tahoes and Suburbans.

I don't agree with the auto or the 2.0 or V6. I dont think GM ruined the 1LE with those trims though. They perform extremely well. I do think GM diluted the 1LE making them too common and.......not special anymore.

1LE package isnt even an RPO code anymore. If you wanted to stir a pot, one could say the 6th gen Camaros arnt "real" 1LEs

What's not real about making it handle better, go faster and appeal to more customers ? Some of you may not be aware that GM is in it to sell volume and make a profit for its share holders . The bottom line has been and always will be market share and profit. The old timers in the car biz say "there is an ass for every seat , and a seat for every ass".

The C7 Corvette ZR1 is the best performing GM car of all time and it has an automatic trans option. It was only a matter of time the ZL1 1LE was offered with an automatic.
It's just how it is today. Automatic trans technology is great now and less people today know how to drive a manual trans.
I know what you mean though.....my ZL1 1LE would definitely have 3 pedals!

this.and BTW my "entry level" RS is at least as fast as my old big block pontiac, but with leather,A/C,XM radio, and whisper quiet at 100 mph.whats not to like? im old enough not to need a car that shouts to the cops every time i hit the gas pedal and i like getting 23 mpg average on regular fuel too.

Stick shifts are becoming obsolete. There used to be a time where going with an automatic meant taking a performance hit compared to a skilled driver with a manual transmission. Now days with computer controlled transmissions, stick shifts just can’t keep up anymore.

If you are seriously losing your shit over an automatic 1LE, just wait, hybrid and electric pony cars are right around the corner.
