Be happy.
There's enough sadness in our fledgling banana republic today.

This was earlier today. She drives like a brand new car and I plan on keeping it that way.

I envy y’all’s cars that are low mileage cause the car still has a long life ahead of it if taken care of properly... but I enjoy driving mine to much to keep the miles off of it. Plus I don’t live in a state where I have to store my care for 6 months of the year either.

I like to see the big numbers! My car is my daily driver, I’ve had it for 2 years and have put about 50k on it. It’s hard to keep one “show ready” and drive it 100 miles a day but I try!

Other than clutches and brakes I’m shooting for 500k before any major overhauls!

This is my second engine, but that is ONLY because I am an idiot and hydrolocked the L99. Otherwise it would still be going strong I am certain. I broke it at 153,300 miles. When I opened it up to check the damage from the hydrolock it looked amazing inside - like an engine with 30,000 miles. The bearings looked great, no oil staining...amazing. But I broke a connecting rod and demolished a piston. I was changing the oil every 3-4k miles with Mobil 1 Extended Performance on that engine and I am sure that is what kept it so fresh. Those 153,000 miles were almost all highway miles, so that helped of course. The new LS3 has 7k miles on it and feels amazing.

As for your goal? I absolutely think you can do 500,000 miles. You may have to get new shocks/struts and mounts, freshen up with some new bushings to replace all the squishy bits, maybe replace some wear parts to keep it feeling tight - but with proper maintenance you can definitely do this, and I look forward to reading about it.

66,145 as of last Saturday. First time I had it out since November. Then it decided to snow on Tuesday so back away it goes until next weekend when we take it to Vegas... after that it’ll probably sit for another month or two. I only did 4K last year including 2 separate trips, 1 to Vegas and 1 to disneyland both pre covid. Ive been about 14K since late oct 18 when I got it.

You will be proud when you achieve the coveted 100K. These cars a overall sturdy enough to get you to your next milestone of 200K. I got to 100K about a month ago but although mine is a daily driver I can only drive 12 miles a day to and from work. Just enough to get it warmed up.
