Window error message ?

2013 ZL1 convertible has not been driven since October of last year & I disconnected the negative cable. When I started it today I got this message,
"Open, then Close Driver Window" I did that but the message was still there, any ideas on why this is happening ? Thanks !

You have to open and close the window multiple times until the message goes away.. you will always get the message when you disconnect and reconnect the battery. Perfectly normal.

Mine occasionally does the same thing.
Push the button at the end of the control stick and it will go away.

From the Manual:
Section 2-15

Programming the Power Windows

If the battery on the vehicle has been recharged or disconnected,
or is not working, you may need to reprogram the windows for the
express-up feature to work.
Before reprogramming, replace or recharge the vehicle's battery.

To program each front window:
1. With the ignition in ON/RUN, close all doors.
2. With the window partially open, pull the power window switch up
until the window is fully closed.

3. Repeat Step 2 on all remaining
windows.

The windows are now reprogrammed.

Hope that helps!!!

Sometimes it goes away after the first down/up, but sometimes you have to do it multiple times. It also helps if you don't engage the auto down feature.

Have this happen every time I disconnect the battery.
The procedure is.
Sit in vehicle close doors.
Pull down drivers door window switch until your hear a click.
Pull up and hold up until you hear a click.
Then it will instruct you to do the passenger side front and rear driver, then passenger rear.
Then error code will go away.
It is called setting the index on the windows.

Had a window code come up and my windows would not come down when the top was trying to retract. VERT.

For this you pull all windows down then retract/open top fully and reclose top fully. Pull all windows up until you hear a click on each switch and the windows will reprogram to come down on a VERT.

Thanks everyone for the advice about the windows. On mine, I had to move the window up and down about 2 inches. After several times problem solved!
