The video is pretty poor quality, but it was fun. After the first "shot" in the video, skip to 40 seconds in to see it slowed down again in Movie Maker to .125 of the original.
Haha! That was cool!!! Almost looked like a read head with brain matter and blood flying all over the place. Beautiful weapon and thanks for sharing the vid.

How does that grip feel compared to older XDs? Haven't held one or the XDS yet.

Yeah I had a xd sc in 9. Really liked that pistol but sold to go smaller. Looking at getting full size to replace a Browning Hi Power.

Beautiful gun! /\

I took my daughter to the gun show this weekend to get her a nice holster for her S&W 9mm qnd noticed. The prices of the holters, ammo or accessories, were no better that if i had got them from a gun store. If fact, i checked a local gun store prices on the holster i got my daughter and i could have saved a few bucs if i had gone there. Other than having everything you need in one place, i didn't see a benefit for even going. What happened to better pricing?

I went to my first gun show the other month and was pretty unimpressed. Crappy selection, a lot of really worn used guns for ridiculous prices. Only thing that might've been worth buying was ammo.

It's pretty much turned me off gun shows for a while.

Yeah, it's kinda like people trying to sell their crappy rundown homes here right now thinking they can price them literally thru the roof... cray cray!

Gun shows aren't all that great. Most of the time, the prices are insane and half the vendors aren't even gun related. Plus, in California, you can't even leave with a gun if you buy it.

I usually just go to shows and pick up ammo in bulk. Last show I was at....saw people drooling over the elusive Glock 43(only 1 vendor had it)...I laughed to myself....he was asking $100 more than I paid for mine last summer

That's pretty common here in California. Hand guns have to be approved by the state to be sold here by dealers, so a lot of them aren't easy to get. You can sell them through private party sales and people jack up the price.

I usually buy bulk ammo online because it's cheaper and easier than going to the show. I have a progressive reloading press but I need to get it all set up.

Unless you know exactly what you want, things like shows are a roll of the dice.

I have purchased exactly two firearms from shows, a Colt Model of 1903 made in 1920 that came with two original mags, and a Colt Model of 1911 made in 1918. I know what to look for, I knew the flaws the pistols had, and we came to a fair price.

But more often I'm going to one to look for parts and reference material. Not many local gun shops have a type II lockbar sight for an M1 rifle or a bolt for an M1903A4 or a blued rear sight for a Model of 1911 on the shelf, and I like to physically examine the parts for old firearms.

I lucked out at a gun show and purchased my Steyr AUG - A1 from a vendor who had it at a great price.
