hmm i wonder if this has something to do with it. it says on the metco site that use of the 9.1 ring requires use of a smaller idler pulley. could be the contributing to my issue possibly? (currently it has clearence but is very tight)

Yeah...that is a good bet. At the very least get a 50mm lower idler for the stock bracket. I have a Lingenfelter relocation bracket and 76mm lower idler. Lingenfelter doesn't rx the 50mm idler. http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C412

have you called ted Janetty or LPE or someboday yet??? I would try to talk to someone in person. the lingenfelter info I have seen list the 9.17 wtih everthing stock as acceptable. there is a section where they show they have another bracket you can run but it is not required until the 9.55 pulley.

i bought the balancer and ring from jannetty and they never mentioned needing a smaller idler or a relocation bracket, stumbled across the 9.1 needing a smaller idler or a relocation when i was looking to order the 8.6" ring on the metco site. im not tuned im running the rotofab intake and torco. lingenfelter tested untuned to 9.17?

no they tune for 9.17 but it has the blower rpm and idler dia etc for the different dia pulleys. there info does not show it as required but I have not ordered yet. I am waiting till after x-mas just in case santa brings it to me ha ha.

thats weird metco does but lingenfelter doesnt, just going to get the 8.6 ring i think at see if the problem persists.

If you take a look at the side of the tensioner, there is a mark where the range of the tensioner needs to be. If you aren't in that marked range, you probably don't have the correct tension on the belt as per one of my comments above.

took a look at it this morning and you were correct it is past the marks. For now i ordered the 50mm idler from metco and will throw that on and see if it eliminates the issue. will get it on the dyno after and get some logs and some power numbers to compare to stock aswell.

My bet is it will fix your problem as it will release the tension slightly and help your belt wrap at the same time.
