Limited slip differentials make use of friction between clutch plates. So i've thought the additive was there to provide some friction.

But oil adds say its there to reduce the chatter sometimes caused by the transfer of torque to the tire with traction, and some people say its there to allow the clutches to release when you come to a stop. Both those explainations sound like it decreases contact (friction) and would function like extra EP additives.

So, I don't know either. I sure wouldn't mind getting an opinion from some of these transmission experts....Anybody?

HEY EVERYONE, WE WILL NOT GET A FIX TO OUR TRANS ISSUE'S UNLESS WE ALL CALL THE NHTSA AND !! GM .---DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS IS ONLY WAY TO GET GM GOING ON FIX AND NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY DOING THIS --PLEASE CALL BOTH AND VOICE YOUR COMPLAINTS.--DEALERS are not letting enginering know about it either and they have that capability.sooooooooooo please call and complain to ,, GM AND THE NHTSA OR WE WILL NEVER GET A FIX.--And that is right out of two local dealers mouth that told me this.------CALL !!!!!!!!!!
