Pads and rotor recommendations

Alright, my 2012 2ss has 111k on it, and it's needing new pads and rotors this time around. I don't live in the aftermarket world too much, so my ignorance is a bit high when looking around and knowing what's good vs overpriced and/or crap. My last pad replacement was using Hawk ceramic pads to reduce brake dust from the stock Brembo pads. They didn't bed properly, so I ended up with my pads and rotors getting a little groovy. Nothing major, but squeaky.

I have the stock Brembo calipers still, and have no plans to change them out. I'm not looking to break the bank, I just want to have good stopping power for spirited driving, preferably less brake dust.

Do you have a Camaro club nearby? Ask around if anybody upgraded their brakes early on and see if they are willing to sell their low mileage rotors and pads.

Everybody always wants to trash the Brembo's for aftermarkets....when in reality, the Brembo stuff is the best all around.

I recently did the brakes all around, went with stock rotors and pads. I was impressed that the boxes all said made in Italy. Everything looked great, works great.

Hey man, I am in SA too and in a similar situation. I need new brakes and rotors and I am looking into it now. What did you find, and did you do them yourself? I have gotten shop recommendations from some guys I know and I am interested in comparing info.

I just installed the Power Stop Z23 pads and rotors on my 2010 SS. The break in procedure went well and I like them so far, but I wish I would have researched a little bit more before I purchased them. Now I'm worried that I'll get more brake dust than normal due to the slotted rotors. Anyone else running this set-up? How do you like it?

BTW- I highly recommend replacing the brake fluid if it hasn't been done in the last 2 years. I used a mighty vac brake bleeding kit, which was a chore, but the old fluid was really dirty and I think it was worth the effort.

This is a pretty good deal. I also recently went with R1 concepts slotted rotors. I paid a little more for the more corrosion resistant version, and EBC red pads. They perform very well and look awesome. Less brake dust than the OEM pads but they still get a bit dusty, and I didn't want to sacrifice stopping power with ceramics.

I got mine from Ohio Speed, and they also gave me a very nice discount off of the online listed price.
