Camaro SS Performance Shop Quote

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, so bare with me. I recently visited a performance shop West of Houston. The offer various packages for the Camaro. Looking at this package,

Custom Tuner
3″Cat Back Magnaflow Exhaust
American Racing Headers
High flow cats
Cold Air Intake

This gets the SS close to 500 HP. My dilemma is that i was quoted between $5000-$5500. This isn't necessarily out of budget, but i wanted some opinions on the pricing for what I'm getting before I do it.
Thanks

I'm assuming you meant a custom cam instead of custom tuner. If so that's about right for everything installed.

Seemed really high to me too. The parts are a bit pricey, but I can't see them charging so much for labor. Guess I'll really have to shop around.

Get the parts yourself and get a quote, their labor rate must be $500 an hour

That exhaust is all bolt on so shouldn't take too long. CAI takes 10 minutes.

Cold Air Intake - $390

You running an Auto or a Manual? Meaning L99 or LS3 engine. LS3 would get about 500 crank HP, or 425 wheel HP.

Rough numbers inline above for ball parking only. You can beat these rough prices by shopping around.

About $3,400 for a rough estimate on the parts and tune, and not accounting for the fact that you should be offered "package" pricing buying all that. Install labor should be cheap since they are cleaning you out the margin on the parts. Sales tax ($280) and shop supplies ($45) extra. You should be looking for an air scoop and washer bottle relo kit too.
