30,000 mile service

I have not reached It yet But my dealer said that It is going to cost me $450 to do it and that is just stupid. My question is what needs to be done at 30,000 miles why does it cost this much or are they just trying to get my money lol.

Ask the dealer for a list of services performed. Chances are 80% of the things on the list aren't call out in the maintenance schedule. What's required is mostly a lot of check this and inspect that... plus an oil change.

So yeah, the dealer service packages are usually ripoffs...

I looked through your owners manual to check on the recommended services and found that at 25,000 miles it is suggested that you get your fuel and exhaust systems inspected (on top of an oil change if needed). I found this information in section 10 on page 5. I hope this information helps you.

I use a cool app for my iPhone called Gas Cubby. You can import/export from/to Excel and also backup your data to their servers for easy restore if you want to load it on a new iPhone or iPad or jay want to reset your iPhone and start over. You don't lose the data. It also supports multiple cars. I have all mine tracked. It even graphs mpg, cash spent on repairs, etc.

There is no such thing as a "30,000 mile service". It is a scam. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owners manual...it's that easy.

32,000 mile service

Oil and filter change (Mobil 1) - $69.95, fuel injection service (I think they just flush some solvent through there) - $144.00, plus tire rotation (LS does need tires rotated) and gave everything a good looking over ("27 point inspection"). Total was about $225. $450 would have to include a lot of stuff...I looked at getting the gear box oil changed, but that was $60 a quart and way too much labor charges.

At about 12k miles I had the differential gear oil changed because of a rubbing/growling/chunking sound and this was done free under a technical service bulletin (TSB). It solved the problem for a while, but it has come back. I didn't do anything on this visit and may have to take it back in a week or two. (this is only for the V6 manual transmission).

One other thing...I understand there is a passenger compartment filter under the windshield wiper cowl that can be changed and I will do that next.

I just moved to LA and I took my car to get the oil changed. The rep told me that I was approaching my 30,000 mile service, and he said it would cost between $500 and $700. I was shocked so I looked here. These dealers....

LS yes, but not on nak3dsnake's 2LT/RS!

===============================

• Replace Fuel Filter, Air Filter and/or PCV if needed

The fuel filter is part of the in-tank fuel pump module an I don't believe it's a serviceable part.

Dealers...what a joke. :bangdesk:

You should rotate them according to Pirelli (or whatever the tire manufacturer says) or you could void the tire warranty, which is always separate from vehicle warranty. Pirelli says to rotate front to back.
