JUST DAYS AWAY!
Got the call Friday, 10-5-12, that my ZL1 hit the dealership. Should be taking control of her Tuesday, 10-9-12! Got my PDI checklist ready to go, but some scary stuff others have had with paint and tires/rims. I'll pay extra attention to the body and wheels. Plus I'll bring someone with me since I'll be a nervous wreck and my brain will be and has been racing since I got the call Friday. Don't want to miss a detail.
Work the nite shift, including on weekends, and only managed 3 hours sleep the first nite. The excitement is a high just on it's own! Can't wait to get behind the wheel. Penciled her in for this Friday (10-12-12) which I'll call Monday and confirm as a go, for the clear bra (3M) and the window tint. But as soon as I get her home I'll take the camaro letters off the sides and replace the bowties, front and back, the the black billet aluminum ones. Add the faded gills and blackout film, haven't decided on the JDP halos or the Demon Eyes. That will be a good winter project since there won't be many, if any, days that I can go for a spin. Also have the flat black Bezels. The clock just doesn't seem to move. |

It was a very good day! All went well, the PDI of the ZL1, and my experience with my salesman Ron, the sales manager, and the Service Manager Carl. The entire process was stress free, great staff a Quirk Chevrolet. We went through the entire vehicle and I had only a few questions. Mostly about the new My Link system. Everything else I was pretty familiar with so it all went very smooth! Quirk (if you're in the New England area) has a 2012 and a 2013 coupe. Also a 2013 (blue) vert ZL1, new since my last visit. The black M6 is gone!
From reading all the horror stories from other owners about their damaged tires and rims, I did opt for the 5 year extended wheel coverage. Any damage to the tires or rim and they will replace it at no cost. Flat bed the truck and even put you up in a hotel overnite if all the dealerships are closed (hotel up $100 for the night, not the ritz, but still not bad). A nail/screw hole on these tires cannot be plugged, the tire has to be replaced. They told me $650 with tax, I said how about $500 and they said okay. Worth the peace of mind, comes to less than $9 a month. A new tire or worse a new rim would cost me more. For my peace of mind it seemed worth the $500. I'll start putting some pictures together. Thanks to everybody for all of your feedback. |

Pre Devivery Inspection
Got most of my pointers from people here. The obvious, paint, top/sides/front and back, even looked underneath for scratches or scrapes. Really look closely at the tires, a thin slice is hard to notice, and look over each rim. Take your time, what's the hurry. Front Spring Spacers (big like 5 or 6 inches long and yellow) should be in the glovebox. The front Bumper Outer Valance. Inside, the front carpets and any/all of the options you added, most are dealer installed, so make sure they installed them and correctly/to your satisifaction. Mine everything seemed to be in order. Bring someone along, an extra set of eyes is always a plus.

Had a similar experience at Zeigler Chevrolet in Schaumburg, Il when I picked up my car. I love it when a plan comes togather. Enjoy your new car.
