Rear light bezels
Anyone know how I can get my rear light bezels black? I have a black Camaro and I am wanting to black it out.

Option #1: Plastidip them. About $11 per can. Not permanent so you can always remove it and go back to stock if you like. Option #2: Black vinyl. Order some of the 3M 1080 automotive vinyl, and spend some time heating and forming it to your bezels. You can also always peel the 1080 off if you want to go back to stock. You can also use 3M DINOC, which has a more permanent adhesive and from what I understand will mold a little better because of the strength of the adhesive. Removing it will be much more difficult. Note: unless you know what you are doing, wrapping them can become a pain and you may end up with the wrap lifting in certain places. If you use 1080, you may want to pick up a can of 3M adhesive promoter and lay that down first. That is also easy to remove should you decide to go back to stock. Option #3: Paint them. I have done all three of these options. Just recently took the 1080 carbon fiber wrap off of them and painted them Satin Black. If you are going to paint them, you will want to grab some fine grit sand paper, or scotch brite and rough up the surfaces a little bit. You can prime them if you want, but it is not absolutely necessary and you probably won't notice any difference. I used Satin Black Rustoleum and couldn't be happier with the results. Go over them several times. Don't try to get them in one heavy coat or you will likely get runs in the paint. I went over mine about 5 or 6 times until I was satisfied. Note: if you paint them, also make sure you tape off your tabs before you start painting. This is all my experience. Other people here may have different experiences/opinions. All 3 of these worked fine for me, but I am happiest with the look I got from painting them. I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

You can buy a set of matte black bezels on ebay for around $70.

I bought mine from Lupe @ overhaulengines. From the pictures and praise on here he does excellent work and the price is very reasonable. Plastidip is nice, but isnt long term.

Get a can of SEM trim black. It matches all factory matte finishes. Like $5 a can, scuff them up really good with a sotchbrite pad. Mines still perfect 2 years later.

Plastidip them! No scuffing needed and you can always peel it ofd if you screw up or eventually want a change. Once it gets warm thats what i will be doing and use the $60 extra on something else

I plastic dip mine but looks cheap and attracts more dirt. I took it off and went back to chrome. After seeing the bezel from 45th camaro I am obssess about it and ordered it from Maureen kinda expensive but its not just a car its camaro. I would say if u like black go painted or go home. Kidding!
