So I orderd the Vtc
And just started noticing people have been having problems with CEL codes. For the people that have the vtc throttle controller should I cancel my order?

Some people seems to have no problems with the VTC. I am not one of those people so I just took it off my car.

Make sure you calibrate it correctly, push the pedal down hard all the way, then make sure its back all the way. IMO if its calibrated "sloppy" it wont match the max speed that the throttle servo can move and will throw a code for that on higher set points.

My VTC has worked great since February. They've sold thousands of these controllers, so the few problems you are seeing are exceptions. I have also noticed that a lot of the guys getting codes also have a ported throttle body.
Besides, you can always send it back if you don't like it. I think there is a 30 day return policy for a full refund.

I had problems with mine. Re-calibrated twice, was told to run it at SP5 or lower. Ran it at SP5, 4, and 3 the codes wouldn't stop popping. I pulled the VTC off and have not had a CEL since. I do not have a ported throttle body. The only other mod I have is a CAI intake. Now I have a tune and the throttle isn't as snappy as SP7, but it's better than stock
Supposedly thousands have been sold. At first you could only find good reviews, but slowly it seems people are starting to have problems. Maybe it's the VTC, maybe it's not. Maybe the Earth is just aligning in a certain way that people are getting CEL's. Just like I'm sure many people on here are going to say, you pay to play. Try it, if it works great! If not, take it off |

Do you have a tune on the car? After I added my bolt-ons and tune I asked about the VTC. The guys at Jannety racing told me that there was no need for it and it would only cause problems. They said there tune helps compensate for the throttle response, so I never purchased it.

So I orderd the Vtc
I had a tune well before I tried the VTC. I eventually removed the VTC and sold it because even at 3 I was leaving rubber everywhere. Anything over 5 was literally undrivable. Since removing and selling it I don't miss it, my tune is more then enough and I can still leave rubber without much effort. So I tend to agree with this poster. With that said I can see the VTC being a great option for cars that are not tuned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by nyrfan; 05-27-2015 at 06:06 PM. |

I installed mine in March and I've had zero problems, no CEL or any other problems. It's pretty shocking how much difference it makes. One thing that I haven't seen anyone mention that I think is a great feature. You can change the throttle response to economy and if you turn it up to like 6 or 7 is significantly reduces the available HP so if someone wants to drive your car you can turn the VTC on economy 7 and it makes a huge difference on the available HP.
