Question about knock sensor pigtail

Found an exhaust manifold leak on cylinder number5 which burned up the pigtail to the knock sensor
I have a new pigtail and sensor but my question is is the pigtail spliced into the wiring harness or is it on continuous wire or lead
I'm asking because the least amount of cutting the better

If you have a pic of it i can try to track it down in mine and see if i can tell. Engine bay is torn to pieces for a cam/header/oil pump install

I wanted to get back to you sooner been working on the car
The new leads of the pigtail are short so I'm going to strip back the burned harness wires and solder & heat shrink
