$7,600 extra inurance!

Got a message from the insurance company to call them back ASAP. My 19 year old son, who is occasional driver on my wife's 02 Sunfire, rate went to $7600 ( what the f#%%$@ ) from $990!
Sigh a waiver that he does not drive it the Camaro? Doesnt matter, 3 cars 3 drivers. His insurance solely on the Sunfire is $7600!
To top it off my insurance on the 2SS is $965 when my 08 Colorado is $1200. Man nothin is making sense tonight. OK, I need to drink heavily now.

Easy fix...... Insure your son with another insurance company and don't even mention your other vehicles on the Household.

If he gives you a hard time about not being able to drive the Camaro, threaten to put him in a 1988 Impala.

Mike, shop around, I've alway said insurance companies are a dime a dozen. It strange, I did a quote once on a 2008 vette and it was cheaper (yes cheaper) than my '04 Colorado. I expect the Camaro to come out the same, I hope. Good Luck, but shop around.

But thats it, even if we sigh a waiver that he doesnt drive the Camaro its still $7600. The Sunfire only has 23,000 km but isnt even worth $5k!

I work for an insurance company DO NOT LIE on an application, if they find out they will void the policy and you will not have any insurance. Most all applications have a question about under age driver's. I have seen this happen several times. An accident happens and durning the investigation the truth comes out. Policy void and you are left with no coverage.
