Yeah I was 20 when i ordered my car. I wouldn't stereotype an entire generation. Just like older folks, not everyone was a hotrodder.

I get it... but the way I see it, having no AC and radio doesn't make someone any "more" of a gear-head. It just makes you hot and sweaty. I've driven "race cars" on the street before, and it gets old after about 15 min. On the track, it's a different story.

In truth, I bought a 5th gen 1LE for everything it comes with that makes it a great track toy, as well as a street car. Before I bought this car, I had a deposit on a Boss 302. A non-1LE SS wasn't even an option for me. Dealers and salesmen were clueless as to why.

But, then again, I'm a millennial... according the the media, I ruin everything.

I'm in the middle at 40 years old. I would agree that a lot of younger guys get a bad rap for not being into cars or only liking Civics and BMWs. I've met more younger guys that knew what the current 5th gen and 6th gen are all about than guys older than me. People love to complain younger people don't get or care about cars anymore, but I don't think that's true.

I often heard, "I like how you did all those mods; they go good together."

Then I tell them, "This is all from Chevy!" and most people are blown away that the MFR could do that so well.

I've gotten: Is your car a Z28 (I have 1LE hood emblems and a license plate frame.) -from an older former Camaro owner.

Younger guy at my work -that track drives and autocrosses -knew exactly what I had when he saw my 1LE, but asked me what was else was different than a standard SS. I was a bit surprised. :-) He's an engineer like myself -very bright.

A lot of people ask who makes my exhaust and where I got my CF hood. I try not to get too upset, the 1LE package isn't super well known and it's a nice little sleeper at track days. If someone asks me if it's an SS then I say yes, because it is haha. My neighbor always asks me if I take it to the drag strip though haha.
