Purchasing (or thinking of purchasing) a new BLACK Camaro?
Are you really, really, really sure you want a black one? As a former owner of two black camaros, I can tell you it was a like a full time job trying to keep them looking perfect. All the comments from other members on this site reflecting their experiences with black cars are right on. No doubt black is the most beautiful color, just be prepared to do a lot of washing and waxing to keep that look. Having said that, ever consider "white". A picture is worth a 1000 words.

Both black & white are really pretty when clean. But I feel pretty much the same way about white as you do about black. Maybe white does not show the fine scratches as badly but dirty white is nothing to look at & it doesn't take much for white to look dirty. To each his/her own. Your car is really sharp looking. But I love that my RJT looks beautiful even when it is dirty. That glittering jewel red just shines right through. I guess that is why they make them in different colors......... so we can each choose the one that speaks to us.

I had a Rally Yellow and was always waxing and spray detailing that car. I imagine White is pretty similar. I wanted to get a Black one and traded the Yellow car. I haven't really taken delivery of the Black one yet (although I own it) but I'm thinking it is going to be a lot of work. For me this is simply a toy car. It will spend most of its life in the garage under a cover (clean). No rain or snow will ever touch this car.

I rock a black Camaro, and it has its special set of rules for cosmetic maintenance. But it is oh so worth it. My friend looked at me like I was absolutely mad at the beach a few days ago when I stopped him from getting in when we got back to the car so I could dust it before we got rolling.
Cant roll through the beach town with a pollen covered car! Gotta shine! I hear you on white though, Id love to two tone the car in the future. Get the best (and worst) of both worlds!

Black can be hard to keep really clean but I think and clean black car is beautiful. Funny thing about that, every car in the family is black. My wife has a Yukon Denali XL black, my daily driver is a Dodge Journey SXT black, my daughters Mercury Cougar black, and my Camaro SS/RS is black.
I keep my Camaro in storage during the winter and in the garage when not in storage. I have only washed my Camaro about 5 times since new. I have one of those California dusters and about 3 minutes with that cleans it up fine. I love your white Camaro, but I like my black one better! Russ |

I use to think white looked kinda bland and gaudy in the 5th gens... but your car looks awesome! Very clean and nice debadged.

To each his own, I would never give up my black Camaro for a white one... shows dirt just as easily... that's why most cars sold now are either silver or champange in color. Best dirt hiding colors. Plus, I don't like the white ones.
