Has anyone figured out how to trick the system? Don’t want to get seats and have a stupid light on the dash

Depends. Are you looking for aftermarket seats or OEM Recaro, SS, ZL1, 1LE seats? If you are keeping it in the family I think they are plug and play, except for the 2010 models.

If going aftermarket, you will have to do the resistor mod. There are a few threads around about it from people that swapped to racing seats.

Get a multi-meter, put it on OHMS, measure the resistance of the seat air-bags at
the harnesses, buy resisters for those values.

I think there was a post within the past few months saying this company could help.

I put the autel scanner on my car and went into the sensing and diagnostics module live data to see the drivers and passengers deployment loop resistance for the seat side airbags and the resistance for both is 2.5 Ohm. There's also the seat position sensor too that would need to be dealt with.
It looks like spec is between 1.7-4.2 Ohms

Of all of the airbags I've seen loop out at 2.5ish ohms

Why the sideways view. What the hell.

Seats came in last week. Brackets came in also. My install should be the next few weeks and I’m nervous about the slider sensor and passenger side pressure sensor. I really don’t want to take my passenger seat completely apart for the sensor pad. But I will do what needs to be done wish me luck.

Resistor to turn off airbag light from installing Racing seats

I should have posted on this thread months ago, but I finally found someone selling resistors for the 5th gen Camaro from the 5th generation Camaro Facebook page. He puts it all together and then ships it to you. No more airbag light or service airbag notification
His IG is @justaniass for those who are interested
***EDIT**** he changed his Instagram username to @ssendit_daylee. For those people messaging about it and future people here ya go *
