Vents blowing HOT air.
So first off the A/C seems to work fine. However when the AC is off even with the temp control fully cold the air coming out the vents is hot. So even on mild days when I want to drive with the windows open the air coming out the vents is hot.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Craig

This is the same thing that my Camaro does. A/C blows cold, but if I turn it off the air seeping out of the vents feels 10-15 degrees warmer than the outside air.

Its calked vent. Every car I have had will blow warm air if you turn off the a/c but keep it on vent.

Found a link for ya. Basically its normal. If memory serves I want to say GM has always kept the blower motor running even if the system is off so there is constant air flow through the cabin of the car. My '79 was like this also. I think I was told its so fumes cant just build up or something. Granted we are talking about a memory from over 20 years ago so take that part with a grain of salt.

thanks for the responses. it just seem odd to me that the "vent" air is 15*-20* hotter than the outside air. It forces you to run the A/C when you shouldn't need to.
thanks Craig

Very common, its called heat soak, especially when you park in the sun.
The vents, ductwork, and blower all warm up which heats the incoming air. You should have no problem on a 60 deg day running the vent. Summer time is a different story.

Once you get into the 70's ambient air, the vent will start to feel a little warm. Completely normal.

Mine did that, much hotter then the outside air... that is what was really weird, felt like the heat was on, it was the blend door.
$700 to fix it, had a repair place cut the door out from under the dash and replace it. Dealer will need to pull windshield, pull dash, and replace. $1500-2000. If you are handy you can do yourself. There are YouTube videos. Check some of these: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=528157 I hope it's not your blend door, but think it is. Best wishes, Jim
