122/103rw gain with bolt on's and heads. NO CAM YET.
I was reading a thread yesterday about a really nice combo a guy put together. He gained 132rw with his full H/C/bolt on package. Since peak numbers vary from dyno to dyno then the gains are what matter. It got me thinking that I hadn't looked back at the initial runs on the dyno I have been using lately for my car. I pulled up the stock runs today after I re-pulled my ported heads. The numbers were up 112/93rw. But we have to take into consideration that I have the converter in the car now. I did back to back 6th gear testing after the converter install and I was down 10/10rw from the stock converter after tuning. So I added that 10rw to the total gains to validate what the mods would be worth if the stock converter was still in there.

That's some serious power gain. Nice job Pray. I'm just curious if you've adjusted your injection timing with running E and obviously increasing spark timing?

I will admit that I have not researched injector timing on these cars at all. I don't have a grasp on it yet so I haven't messed with it. Tim did some cold start adjusting for the E. I have a full grasp of injector timing for all of the LS stuff and adjust it quite frequently. I will have to look into this motor a little deeper and see if anything is there.

Sorry for the thread revival. The dyno in the OP was FBO and ported heads without a cam? If so, were the heads ported and not milled (stock compression)?

Funny we mentioned injector timing
A guy I was talking to that tunes tonight said he found 10rwhp from injector timing on a new DI 5.3 Get on it pray ! |
