I just bought a 1le from a forum member and trust me, that it’s a purchase from a private person doesn’t relieve you of the need to pay sales tax on the price of the car. You have a very nice car and I wish you GLWS

Well, you can if you report the sale price as being less than paid. It's illegal, of course, but there's an improbably small chance of being caught if both parties report the same information.

I'm at nearly 50 vehicles (cars & bikes) (I'm elderly) and I ask every private seller to do a Bill of Sale for less than the actual sales price for 2 reasons. 1,it saves me money and 2,I have a document from the seller stating the price when I get to the DMV as opposed to them taking my word for it. I have never been questioned.
I think this is a very fair price and surprised it hasn't sold.
